Time flies when you are busy.   This years 25 Women in Leadership plaques are all finished.   http://www.centralillinoisnewscenter.com/features/business/women-in-leadership  Now we are in the middle of Photographing OSF Graduates http://www.sfmccon.edu/about/ and gearing up for the 40 Leaders under 40.  http://www.peoriamagazines.com/40-leaders  and somenhow we still find time to photograph Familes and Seniors and anyone else that needs us.

In 2001 Color Classics Portrait Gallery went digital and we have every image that has been taken since then.  We also have film negatives going way back before that time, which actually what brought the over half a million digital image factoid to light when someone called in today asking for something that was done in 1996.  What is neat about the digital images is the small amount of space that it takes to store them.  They basically take up about to shelves about three feet long.   The pre 2001 images take up a whole room plus.

I just finished updating and changing the slideshow at www.colorclassics.net.   New shows for the Children, Families, Pets and Seniors.

It is hot enough that I'm happy to be inside blogging instead of outside with the photographers.  I wonder if the pictures they take today will have some extra sizzle? 

We are in the middle of photographying the 25 Women in Leadership again this year.  I've also updated the web page with new Senior Ambassador shows.  http://www.colorclassics.net/Am2012.html is a mix of the Ambassadors.   And we even have a new opening show.  http://www.colorclassics.net/mainpageindex.html

It could be a good sign that I have been too busy to blog.  I don't do Facebook real well either.  This blog only has a 37 ranking on the http://websitegrader.com/ site.

The web page grade was up to 59 about 6 monthes ago after we went to a DEX phone book presentation.  I think it was initially scoring at 39.

The page has slipped back to 49 yesterday.  I made a few changes and got it back up to 52.  The key thing though is that when you Google Photography Peoria Il is that it comes up

on the first page.  The weird thing is that yesterday the same search terms but reversed to Peoria Il Photography were throwing us up on the second page.

So anyway if anyone has a webpage and wants to link or just mention the Color Classics Photo Studio please feel free to do so.

I will really try to get back before another 6 monthes goes by.

Ok so we haven't gotten the programs we talked about up on the web yet.  Maybe this isn't the right time of year to be working on that.

But we haven't forgotten and maybe after Christmas we will have a chance to work on that.

It really isn't that we don't have anything to blog about.  It is just that by the time I have time to blog those things seem like they happened so long ago.

I went to a seminar put on by Dex Knows a couple of weeks ago.  Part of it was on making your web site more attractive to search engines.  Since then we have taken the

Color Classics web site from a grade of 39 to 55 using the webgrader site at http://websitegrader.com/  And now when one Googles Peoria Illinois Photography or even Peoria Illinois Photographer Color Classics comes up on the first page in the three or four spot.

There are still things to do to improve our ranking.  The main one is to get other sites to link to ours.  That isn't something that happens over night.  One thing we intend to do is to release a few of the programs that I have written to other photographers and the public for free.  They are simple programs but they do come in handy.
